Here's Charlie a three year old Labradoodle that I met today at a freezing Dunorlan Park. She was very well trained and more than happy to pose on the tree trunk.
The owner was very obliging too. It never fails to amaze me how kind people are when I approach them to snap their dogs. "Yes, snap NOT snatch, I'm not The Dog Snatcher!" I think most owners are very proud of their pooch and are happy to show them off. Once I explain what it's all for, most people really like the idea and that gets them talking, which is all good.
Of course, I usually hand over a card, once I've taken a few details down. Today though, I didn't have a pen, notebook or business card. Thank God for smart phones (and the Color Note app - brilliant). It doesn't matter how many times I cram my business cards into my camera bag, pockets, wallet, there's always that moment when I don't have any on me. I just hope the owner remembered the instruction to go to "The Dog Snapper dot com" (sounding it out like an idiot two or three times).
Must remember cards, must remember cards, must remember cards....
